About Us

FBC Community Ministries, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, formed as a local mission and ministry of First Baptist Church Montgomery.  We believe all people have two distinct types of needs - Spiritual and Physical.  Our first and greatest purpose is to further the gospel of Jesus Christ to meet the spiritual need that we all have. Each of us is separated from God through our sin and rebellion.  But we can be reconciled to God through the sacrificial act of Grace that God has showed us in Jesus' death burial, and resurrection.  "For God so loved the world that he gave his only son so that whoever would believe in him will...have eternal life," John 3:16.  God provided a way back to him.  We want to show you God's love and help you grow in a relationship with him.

We also strive to meet the physical needs that we all have from time to time. We seek to meet these needs through our many ministries that provide food, clothing, financial assistance, after-school and summer children's programs, GED training, mentoring for mothers, English as a second language and conversational English classes, tutoring for children, prison ministry, and vegetable gardening, as well as a childcare center.  As we conduct these ministries, we are guided by three biblical principles: love, service, and dignity.  We love because God loved us first, and we want to show that love to our community.  We serve because we want to follow the model and command of Christ to serve our fellow man. We also want to treat each person with dignity, as we believe we are all created in the image of God.
