Volunteer at the caring center
Ministry Overview
The Caring Center is one of the primary ways FBC Community Ministries serves our neighbors right here in the Montgomery area. Through food assistance, clothing, financial assistance, and the sharing of the Gospel, we seek to meet practical needs while demonstrating the love of Christ. None of this is possible without faithful volunteers who are willing to serve. Whether you're an individual, a family, or a group, there's a place for you to make a difference.Volunteer Opportunities
1. Clothing Sorters
Help prepare donated clothing for our Clothing Shop by sorting, hanging, and organizing items for distribution. Each year, The Caring Center provides more than 102 tons of clothing to our neighbors, and this ministry depends on volunteers to keep donations moving from the donation pile to the shopping floor.Time Commitment: • 1–2 hours • Weekly or occasional • Morning or afternoon shifts • Evening and weekend opps
2. Food Appointment Volunteers
Assist neighbors by returning phone calls and scheduling food assistance appointments. This behind-the-scenes role helps ensure families can access food in a timely and organized manner.Time Commitment: • 1–2 hours • Weekly • Morning or afternoon
3. Front desk Volunteers
Welcome neighbors as they arrive for services, check them in, verify eligibility, and help direct them through the next steps of their visit. This role is often the first interaction our neighbors have with The Caring Center and provides an opportunity to offer a warm and welcoming experience.Time Commitment: • Mon, Tues, Thurs, or Fri • 10am - 12pm • One volunteer needed for each
Who can volunteer
We welcome volunteers of all ages, including individuals, families, and groups. No special skills or experience are required—just a willingness to serve. Our team will provide the training and support you need to feel confident in your role. Whether you can serve every week or only occasionally, we'd love to help you find a place where your time and talents can make a meaningful impact.Interested in Serving?
