Ministry Overview

International Ministries welcomes and serves hundreds of people from around the world who are living in Montgomery for both short-term and long-term stays. During the 2025 school year alone, we had the privilege of serving individuals from nearly 40 different countries. Through English classes, meaningful friendships, and everyday conversations, we share the love of Jesus with people from cultures across the globe. The world is coming to Montgomery—and to our church—and God is providing a unique opportunity to make an eternal impact without ever leaving home.

Volunteer Opportunities

1. English Teacher

  • Help international students grow in their English language skills by teaching or assisting in one of our English classes, offered four mornings each week. Our easy-to-follow curriculum includes prepared lessons and activities, making it a great opportunity for both experienced and first-time teachers.
  • Time Commitment:
	• 1–3 hours per week
	• Classes offered 4 mornings/week
	• Annual ESL teacher training is   highly recommended for lead teachers

2. English Café Volunteer

  • Build friendships in a relaxed, conversational setting where students can practice everyday English. English Café provides an opportunity to encourage students, learn about their cultures, and naturally share the love of Christ through authentic relationships.
  • Time Commitment:
	• 2 hours per week
	• Café meets 3 mornings/week

3. Support Volunteers

There are many ways to serve behind the scenes with a flexible schedule. Volunteers help welcome students, prepare snacks, provide hospitality, pray for students, assist with transportation, care for preschool children during class, maintain attendance records, sell books, and support other ministry needs.

	• Flexible
	• Opportunities throughout week

Who can volunteer

Whether you enjoy teaching, building relationships, offering hospitality, or serving behind the scenes, there's a place for you in International Ministries. No previous ESL teaching experience is required for many volunteer roles, and training and support are available to help you get started.
